Miramar

In the past, Miramar was generally associated with the annual Miramar Air Show, the largest military air show in the country. Today, Miramar is better known as the epicenter of San Diego's ever-growing beer scene. More than a dozen breweries call this zone between the 805 and 15 freeways their brewing headquarters, or, more commonly, “Beeramar.” This sprawling industrial district won't win any awards for its warehouse facilities, but it certainly delivers when it comes to brewing, tasting, and on occasion, feeding the multitudes with elevated pub food. Don't expect a stacking of hands between neighbors; they fly solo. One brewery might offer tours, another might have a barrel-aged tasting room, another might have a food truck, and they all have their own operating hours. Far from your ordinary pub crawl, you'll need a designated driver to chauffeur you between isolated breweries.
