Four days in Switzerland

Short trip with my adult daughter the beginning of May. First time visiting Switzerland.
Flying into Geneva from NY. Would love ideas and tips for Geneva (hotels, restaurants, sites) as well as any fun day trips easily reached by train.
Not big hikers. Love quaint towns, water, museums, shopping, cheese, great food… Thank you so much!

I'd suggest staying somewhere like Montreux. Right on the lake, pretty views, Chateau de Chillon to explore, ferry rides on the lake.

Oh, I love Montreux! Great trips to Lausanne (Olympic Museum), Lavaux wine region (between Montrux and Lausanne), day trip to Gruyeres (cheese and castle) and Broc (chocolate), and Chillon Castle on the lake. Lakeside promenade in Montreux is delightful and Queen's (the band) former recording studio (inside the current Casino) is interesting.

Thank you so much!
Since we only have four days, would it be best to just sleep in one city and do day trips by train or stay in two cities? Hotel recommendations would be amazing if you have any favorites.

Personally, I would stay in one place. Less moving around and missing time to sight see.

In Montreux I always stay in the Hotel Splendid. It is funky/quirky, but the views from the lake view balcony are so beautiful. My husband and I hove to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and watch the sunset over Lake Leman. It does not offer breakfast breakfast, but there is a small cafe about a block away toward the rail station. The hotel also has a restaurant.

If you want to also visit a mountain peak from Montreux, you can day trip by train/bus to Glacier 3000 (3000 meters high). The train trip also goes by some beautiful scenery and quaint towns.

Are you flying back out of Geneva too? You don't have that much time, I'd definitely stay in one place.

Can most likely fly back out of Zurich. Then would it make sense to stay in two different cities? Thank you again!

Lucerne is a lovely city but if you only have 4 nights, that's 3 days and you need to factor in travel time at each end of your trip.
