Why It's Going to Be Great Following are just the highlights – you'll experience much more on this first-class journey.
Rio: Yes, Rio... just say the word, and feelings of exotic, exciting, sun-drenched fabulousness overtake you. And with good reason. Blessed with a spectacular natural setting wedged between mountains and the sea, watched from above by Christ the Redeemer (one of the new 7 World Wonders), surrounded by tropical forests and lagoons, and celebrated with the planet's most famous carnival, Rio is one of the world's top vacation destinations.
Petrópolis: This imperial town provides a calm change of pace from the bustle of Rio. Getting there is a beautiful experience in itself, as you ride into the Organ Mountains along a winding road through dramatic scenery of forested slopes and cloud-shrouded mountains. The lovely town is dotted with mansions and alpine chalets, and a neo-Gothic cathedral serves as its centerpiece. Inside are the tombs of Dom Pedro, the Princess Regent Dona Isabel, and several other royal personages. The Imperial Museum is also a "must-see," housed in the former royal residence with landscaped tropical gardens.
Iguassu Falls: Designated a Natural Heritage of Humanity Site by UNESCO, the Iguassu Falls are a stunning sight shared by Brazil and Argentina. They are formed by 275 waterfalls ranging in height from 45 to 110 yards, and are surrounded by 556,000 acres of tropical forests filled with rare and endangered species. Plenty of eco-tours and outdoor activities are hosted year round to take you on soft or high adventure discoveries of this spectacular destination.
Salvador: Brazil's former colonial capital is a striking city that borders the beautiful Bay of All Saints (Bahia de Todos os Santos), the second largest bay in the country. Spend two full days touring the major sites including the gorgeous beaches where you can stop for a swim, traditional fishing districts, a historic lighthouse, a sea turtle preserve, and much more. Your visit culminates with a Bahian folk show and dinner, highlighting traditional war dances, spiritual rituals, fishermen's songs, and more.
Here's what one tour guest had to say about the experience. "We are extremely pleased with the work you did to assist us with our selected itinerary and the relative ease of putting the package together. Our guide was exceptional, overall an A+. He had extensive knowledge and his multi-lingual skills were impressive and well appreciated. He even provided us with his cell phone number in case we needed anything, at any hour! His services far exceeded our expectations. Once again, thank you for your efforts. We were provided with the types of services and accommodations that we were looking for in a trip...private guides, excellent accommodations and individualized service. We will certainly consider iExplore for future travel plans."
